Buffalo Dunes Golf Course is ranked as the No. 1 municipally-owned golf course in Kansas by Golf Digest magazine. It has been recognized by Golf Magazine and Travel & Leisure Magazine as places to play and best bangs for the buck.

Challenging, enjoyable and affordable, Buffalo Dunes will give you a little bit of Scottish feel as it is nestled among the historic sand hills six miles south of Garden City. Southwest Kansas offers a 4-season climate and golf can be played throughout the year, weather permitting.

Opened in 1976 on land donated by E.C. Brookover Sr., Buffalo Dunes is one of the host courses to the prestigious Southwest Kansas Pro-Am every August. Beautifully conditioned, the Dunes has bluegrass fairways, well-maintained bentgrass greens and native grasses that challenges the golfer and provides a memorable experience.

The course can play at differing lengths based upon a player's skill level, with yardages from 5,452 to the championship tees of 6,806 yards. Golf Club at Southwind

77 Grandview Drive
Garden City, KS
(620) 275-2117

The Golf Club at Southwind is a private golf club with a fine dining restaurant, bar, and golf course. Being a private club Southwind is only open to its members and any guests they choose to invite to the club. Southwind does have reciprocity set up with a number of clubs in the region and would be happy to make you a reservation or tee time with advanced notice from your club.

Southwind does from time to time have events that are open to people who are not members in the case of corporate outings, meetings, or weddings. If you are interested in learning more about the club and joining for a meal or round of golf please call Luke Nickodemus for more information.

The Course

Located on the High Plains, The Golf Club at Southwind is known as the premier golf course in Western Kansas. Continuously ranked amongst the top courses in the state, this 18-hole championship course will challenge players of all abilities. Designed by renowned golf course architect Donald Sechrest, Southwind opened in 1980 and since then the course has hosted championship events at all levels including the annual Southwest Kansas Pro-Am and multiple Kansas State Amateurs.

Rolling bent grass fairways situated between tall native grasses and well placed bunkers give Southwind a visual appeal from the tee, while slight elevation change on approach shots and multi-level greens make proper club selection a key to success. With 4 sets of tees to choose from, a round at The Golf Club at Southwind will be a challenging yet an enjoyable and memorable experience.

An Unaccompanied Guest is a guest of a member who is not playing with the member, this tee time should be set up by the member who is hosting the guests. A Reciprocal Guest is a member of another club who is playing on a reciprocal agreement set up by their golf professional.

An Accompanied Guest is a guest of a member who is hosted by a member and is playing with that member.

An Immediate Family Guest is a guest of a member who is both playing with that member and is an immediate relative to this member; this includes parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren of that member.

Another change that will be seen is a limit to the frequency of guest play. Guests living within 50 miles of Garden City are limited to one guest round per calendar month. A second guest round must be approved by Head Golf Professional Chris Meyer or General Manager Luke Nickodemus, and may incur an additional charge. Guests are allowed on Tuesdays-Sundays and holiday Mondays, but are restricted from play on Mondays when the club is closed.

If you have any questions regarding these fees or the changes made please contact either Chris Meyer or Luke Nickodemus for assistance.
